Mircea Trandafir is an assistant professor in the Department
of Economics at Université de Sherbrooke. He received his B.A. in Finance from the
Academy of Economic Studies (Bucharest, Romania) in 2000, his M.A. in Economics from Central European University (Budapest, Hungary) in 2002,
and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2009. His primary research interests are in applied microeconomics,
particularly labor and health economics. At Université de Sherbrooke, he teaches labor economics at the graduate level and econometrics at
both the graduate and the undergraduate level, and has taught courses in intermediate microeconomics, money and banking, and financial markets at
the undergraduate level at the University of Maryland.
